I love coconut oil and have been using it for years. This book actually answered some questions I had about coconut oil (I wondered if MCT oil was as beneficial as it's touted to be- or just an over priced and over processed version of the real thing). I learned several new ways I can use coconut oil to reap the benefits even more!

Easily Improve Your Health

After reading Coconut Oil Breakthrough, I am a convert! I knew that coconut oil was better than other oils and I was already using it for a lot of things, but the author gave me some reminders and also told me about things I didn’t know. The difference between good fats and bad fats was clearly explained. I had no idea coconut oil was 90% good!

She also explains what RBD coconut oil is, and the best type of coconut oil to get, “wet-milled”. She tells you ways to use coconut oil to lose weight such as stirring a small amount into a cup of tea before meals which sounds heavenly to me.

One of the most fascinating discussions in the book for me was about hydrogenated oils and how they are made. What craziness! I knew they were bad and always avoid them, but now I know why and it has strengthened my resolve. Great book for anyone interested in improving their health.

About the Author
C.J. Foot was a Junior Research Fellow of Jesus College in Oxford 1984-86, as well as being awarded the Lindemann Trust Fellowship at Stanford University 1984-85 and the Royal Society University Research Fellowship 1986-1991. In 1991, he became a university lecturer and was awarded the title of Professor of physics in 2002. He won the National Physical Laboratory Metrology Award in 1990.

This is one case where the electronic version is better than the print version.

This has the same problem as Introduction to Plasma by Chen where the text is printed too close to the spine. The reason print exists is so that you can read words on flat sheets of paper, instead of having to crane your neck to see what's on the other side.

A great general reference for atomic physics

A very useful reference text for advanced undergraduate or higher atomic physics. It moves rather quickly and assumes prior knowledge of quantum mechanics, but provides a lot of good information on modern experimental techniques.

About the Author
Michel Gagne was born in Quebec, Canada. He studied animation at Sheridan College School of Visual Arts in Ontario, Canada and in 1985, began a highly successful artistic career.

Renowned for his unique vision, Michel has lent his talent to several animation companies, such as Don Bluth Studios, Warner Bros., Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc. His creative work can be seen in over twenty feature films including: The Iron Giant, Osmosis Jones, and Ratatouille. His short films, Prelude to Eden and Insanely Twisted Shadow Puppets, are favorites among animation students and teachers, and have played in festivals throughout the world. He was honored by the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, with four Annie Award nominations. He continues to create animation, special effects and conceptual designs for companies all over the world.

Michel is also very active in the publishing world having written and illustrated a dozen books, as well as two ongoing comic series: ZED and The Saga of Rex. His work has been published by DC Comics, Image Comics, Random House as well as Michel's own imprint, GAGNE International Press.

Among his other creative endeavors, Michel has experimented in a variety of projects in various media including video games, art shows (paintings, sculptures and mixed-media), trading card games, etc.

Charles Grippo is an attorney, producer, and playwright. He owns New Lincoln Theatre Productions, Holiday Road, and Charles Grippo Productions. In Chicago, he has produced plays by Neil Simon, David Mamet, and Kathleen Tolan. His plays, which include Sex Marks the Spot, Bedroom Follies, A Wife's Tale, Santa's Children, The Tooth of the Matter, Salvage Job, and Wait for the Wind, have been produced by theater companies in New York, Chicago, and California. His adaptation of Wait for the Wind was published in Hardboiled Detective�in 1995. He has written articles on theater law for the Chicago Alliance for Playwrights and is currently working on a novel in the legal thriller genre about a female attorney. A member of the Dramatists Guild and director emeritus of Chicago Alliance for Playwrights, he practices entertainment and real estate law.

Useful Contract Templates With An Artists' Bias

This book provides a nice starting point for artists to use when engaging in negotiations for their work. He does a nice job explaining legal terms and the reasoning behind each clause. However, I find the contracts quite slanted in the artist's favor so if you are looking for contracts to use as the producer know that you'll probably want to adapt these further and have your own lawyer look them over before sending to an artist for signature.

This book is amazing! Recently I was doing a theatre production and needed some contracts. This book was easy to understand, the CD made it so easy to get the contracts I needed in doc format and alter them as I needed.

Much of this book is based on Union workers, but again can be easily altered. My only quibble is the writers contract. I wish there was a better writers contract, something more simple. The one in this book will definitely cover most if not all the bases.

For the price, this book is totally worth having around. Especially if you are working in production

About the Author
Born in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, India, Saroo Brierley lives in Hobart, Tasmania, where he manages a family business, Brierley Marine, with his father. Saroo’s story has been published in several languages and is now a major motion picture from The Weinstein Company.

A good telling of a wonderous story of a lifetime search...

I'm pretty sure that almost everybody who reads this book, "Lion" by Saroo Brierley, is going to see the movie with Dev Patel. Or, has already seen it. The book, which was originally published under the title of "A Long Way Home: A Memoir", has been reissued as a tie-in for the newly released movie. "Lion" is the story of a journey a five year old boy makes by himself from his hometown in rural India, to the large city of Calcutta. (now, Kolkata) and after being lost in the streets of the huge city, is taken to an orphanage, where he is luckily adopted by an Australian family from Tasmania. He lives the next twenty years, happily with his new family, but always remembers the tragic journey and his mother and siblings he left behind in India. With the advent of Google maps, he's able to trace his birth family's village. He then travels back to India and is reunited with that family, while remaining close to his adopted family and life in Australia.

That's basically Saroo Brierley's story and how he tells it in the book is interesting. But as I read it, I felt a bit of a remove from Brierley's telling it. Am I asking for more emotion, and if so, is that a fair request? I'm looking forward to seeing the movie next week, and there, on the screen, might be a more vivid recreation. I enjoyed reading the book, though.

Story of an amazing, long journey.

I watched the movie on New Year's Eve and loved it so much that I got the book. It usually takes me forever to read any book more than third way through these days but finished this in three days. Easy and enjoyable read. It gives more details to what happened. Some of the stories in the movie are simplified or mixed together. The book explained more of the process and revealed other coincidences that point to the divine intervention of Saroo's journey. It's written like an autobiography or a memoir rather than a novel which makes sense. It is a narrative of a long journey. The movie is fantastic and a must-see. Get the tissues ready if you haven't seen it.
